The "Whats New?" Block

We have introduced a new feature on the Home Page - the "What's New" Block.

This contains items of special interest and quick links to the News/Media/Press Release pages of health-related websites.

Please let us have your views on this!

Thank you!

Corrective and Preventive Action

Often, after a long time in a specialist area, you think you know something really well, but it is only when you have to look at the topic from the perspective of organising a Workshop, that your understanding may prove not to be correct.  This is what I found at the recent CAPA workshop!

This year's Symposium

We are really excited to anounce that Professor Mario Plebani has agreed to speak at this year's Symposium on "Quality and Patient Safety" (7th November 2011).  Professor Plebani is a well known and highly influential world expert in this area.

We are now working on the detailed programme, which will include detailed discussion on Quality Indicators and competency assessment.  This will be announced shortly.

Database tidy up and forthcoming events

The tidying up process went well, and all 'never accessed' accounts have been deleted.  (If you were one of these and wish to stay in contact, that is fine - just register a new account.)

I have left all website account holders who have accessed their accounts at least once in place.  I really would encourage you all to enrol as full members to take advantage of special rates for our events and engage in interactive discussion.

Website database maintenance

Current full members of AQMLM, ie those who have paid their 2010-2011 subscriptions, may ignore this message!

We have today (26th January 2011), sent out an email to all website account holders who are not full AQMLM members, advising them that we are deleting website accounts that have not been accessed since they were created last September when the new website was launched.

Group representation in AQMLM governance

AQMLM enables regional quality management groups to retain their individual identity within the membership database, thus acting as an 'umbrella' body for such groups.

BARQA seminar

"Medical Research - Practical Aspects to Improve Science and Compliance"

This one day BARQA seminar at Birmingham University on the 2nd March 2011 will be of interest.

End of another year!

To all Members and website account holders

Over the next few weeks, we will be tidying up the membership database so that we can start 2011 with an accurate record of who has renewed and recently joined.

Symposium follow-up #1

This is the first of a series of Blogs that will focus on the outcome of the Symposium held on Monday 22nd November 2010 at Austin Court in Birmingham.

Thank you to all those who attended and made this a great day!  50 delegates from all over the UK and Ireland heard some very thought-provoking presentations and discussed the future activities of AQMLM, and Angi and her team at Austin Court looked after us all very well!

The presentations will eventually appear in the Download section - free to members, but at cost for non-members.

The Symposium is Go!

All is now in place for this year's Symposium!

All registrants were emailed today (Tuesday 16th November), so if by any chance you did not receive an email, it may be that your registration has slipped through the net somehow (we are aware of a few anomalies in the recording of registrations and their acknowledgement).  If this is the case, please contact us immediately and we will ensure your place is confirmed.
